Some of my artwork of recent years is a direct emotional response evoked by the unprecedented times we are experiencing, especially in my home country of Sudan.
Dalia Salim is a self-taught Sudanese-British contemporary abstract artist based in London.
My medium of choice is acrylic paint, but I also like to use chalks, ink, and other mixed media in my paintings. Art enables me to express my viewpoint of life, through colour and emotion, and I enjoy the freedom and spontaneity that abstract art allows me to explore.
I take inspiration from the world around me, colour has always excited me and makes me eager to paint. I would characterise my art up to date as being lustrous and vibrant, but I would also like to explore creating monochromatic artwork in the future.
